Young Talent Development

The introduction of "The Barnard Theatre cc" is our opportunity to help, with a focused drive in the development of theatre in South Africa. As part of this new focus, we would like to invite you to be part of this drive. We are not only looking for talented young people but writers, producers, sponsors and companies who believe in the development of people.  Our goal is to share our knowledge in the development of other. Many people put their talents on hold and focus on business or their jobs, all because that’s what pays the bills. There is nothing wrong with this approach, except when you forget your talent on the rack. We often hear that people should have a balanced life. This is the opportunity we would like to develop. The balance between work and play allows people to live the music, or at least their dreams! It also gives you a different perspective of life.

The musical “Places in my mind” was our first project in which we incorporated voices and people from the Barrier Productions recording studio, to the stage. Our continued drive is to produce 2 shows a year in which we can introduce young vibrant people to the stage and the market.  If you would like to be part of this team, please send all your details to our office via the contacts page. The Piano and the Stately Mirror

Diane Anderson is a young and very attractive 29 year old who loves to sing and dance, but has never really made a fuss about it.  She is the only daughter of Michael Chamber ( her father) who passed away about 5 years ago and in his will left her a family air loom, A Piano. One day Diane gets a letter in the mail telling her that her Grand father " Lord Chamber" has passed away and that she has inherited a mirror that has been in the family for over 300 year. 

It's only when the Piano and the Mirror are in the same room that life starts to change for Diane. So during the beginning of 2007 , you will be invited to join The Barnard Theatre in the staging of our second young talent development production.
